To get to the Achiote Road you need to cross the Canal at the Gatun Locks in Colon, then cross the bridge at the Gatun Dam and head along the Gatun Lake, the at around La Treinticinco turn right direction to the Achiote Village, now a few miles before the Village is a small parking lot to your left hand where the trogon trail starts, park there for a short walk to see some birds, for longer hikes best contact the El Tucan Visitor Center in Achiote for a guide or directions.
