Most birding spots we decribe here are not to bad with mosquito infestation, but if your sensible use some mosquito spray and long sleve shirts and pants. They are more around in the rainy season.

Dengue fever is a viral infection found throughout Central America. In Panama, most cases occur in San Miguelito and in the Panama City metropolitan area. Dengue is transmitted by aedes mosquitoes, which bite preferentially during the daytime and are usually found close to human habitations, often indoors. Aedes Aegypti

The yellow fever mosquito, Aedes aegypti is a mosquito that can spread the dengue fever, chikungunya and yellow fever viruses, and other diseases.
